Profile

As a Technical Manager for Product Management for Brightcove Video Content Management system, you will be based in our Boston, MA office, driving product development in and for a truly global environment. You will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of the OTT industry and be able to collaborate with all parts of the organization as well as with our customers and partners to iron out requirements and strategies for your specific product area. On a daily basis, you will work closely with several highly skilled development teams. In this role you will have to rely heavily on your ability to communicate and to drive collaborative analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

Translating product vision, strategy and roadmap into product definition that can be communicated to engineering, QA and customer-facing functions.

Working closely with engineering leads and architects to ensure a deep understanding of product vision and priorities

Understanding the vision of a product from the point of view of all customer stakeholders (system administrators, end users, operations management, etc)

Interact with customers and end users of the product to learn details for feature/product definition and prioritization

Creating epics, user stories and acceptance criteria from the business feature functionality presented by product management

Prioritizing, grooming the product backlog, including working with Program Management to adjust stories as part of sprint planning

Managing the feature request process and keep an updated release plan for the products you cover

Giving feedback regarding the achievement of the sprint goal in the sprint review

Helping and supporting the team to continuously improve their processes, while managing, coaching and inspiring a team of product managers continuously

Collaborate with other product owners, product management, engineering management and program management to improve product delivery practices

Define and measure delivery for meeting customer value propositions

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or other related field, or equivalent experience

Passion for media technology and digital video. You want to be a part of the revolution that is taking place in redefining how digital video is consumed

Strong analytical skills to accurately define requirements that contribute to a robust platform - help expand the quality of our thinking

4 years hands on experience managing all phases of product lifecycle in an agile development environment

4 years of product management experience with large-scale customer-facing technology products

1 years of people management experience; ability to coach and inspire others to do their best work

Proven enterprise software, SaaS/B2B experience

Self-organized with expert ability to prioritize activities and manage deliverables to completion in a high-pressure environment

Working knowledge of OTT video management, publishing and syndication, and other related video management and distribution services

Knowledge of what SVOD, AVOD, TVOD, PPV mean and how each best allows one to monetize content

Experience working with UX creators to define customer experiences

Experience in Video Content Management Systems (CMS) for multi-channel Platforms (Mobile, Tablet, Desktop, etc.), is a plus

Experience in AL/ML use cases related to video content management and delivery such as speech to text, object detection, video recommendation etc. is a plus

Experience delivering video experiences in HTML5 for a variety of device profiles with various Adaptive Bit Rate technologies (HLS, SMOOTH, HDS, MPEG DASH) is a plus

Understanding of experience with electronic programming guide (EPG) creation, formats, and management is a plus.
