Job Introduction Product Manager for Magna Seating of America, Inc. in Novi, Michigan. Major Responsibilities Duties: Manage and oversee the activities of engineering and product development teams in designing, building, testing, and releasing automotive seating systems and components; determine program objectives and requirements, and develop standards and guidelines for product development activities; supervise project manpower requirements and workloads, and ensure that products are released in accordance with all program objectives and timelines; guide engineers in completing all required engineering documentation, manage timely product releases, oversee design studies and engineering changes, and lead design issue meetings and critical design review meetings; oversee communications with customer, supplier, and company department representatives in order to facilitate the timely and effective completion of engineering tasks; monitor adherence to budgets, including manpower, materials, and testing expenses, and participate in budget review meetings; 15 % travel, both domestic and international. Knowledge and Education Req\u2019s : Bachelor Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or foreign equivalent.\u00a0 Work Experience 5 years of experience in an automotive seating system product engineering or design position. 5 years of experience with each of the following: complete automotive seating system design and development, including defining Bills of Materials, parts and seats releases, and utilizing CAD tools for complete packaging, installation, kinematic, and layout studies for complex mechanisms; designing and developing automotive seating manual and powered track and disc recliner systems and frame structures, including positive engaging latches and rail stampings; reducing seating structure mass and costs through Value Analysis\/Value Engineering (VA\/VE) and developing methods of utilizing common features across seat variants; developing functional objectives and designs for automotive systems, including associated manufacturing and assembly requirements, and validation through DVP&R; applying Design for Six Sigma analyses to automotive seating systems, including confirmation through physical testing; supporting supplier management, production launch, and development through APQP phases, including DFMEA and PFMEA, and post-launch service operations.
