This position reports directly to the President of the company.
This person needs to have experience wearing many hats:
Marketing (Creating advertising plans, maintaining website, creating data sheets, etc.)
Finance (Profit & loss experience, forecasting goals, etc.)
Product Development (Drive product life cycle (PLC) process, create development roadmap, etc.)
Portfolio Management (Create market analysis, analyze data, gather competitor information, etc.)
Ability to translate customer needs into definitions of winning products.
Marketing- and finance savvy.
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 33%.
BS degree and at least 10 years of work experience.
Hands-on experience with the preparation of specimens for transmission and scanning electron microscopy.
Materials Science background.
Semiconductor Manufacturing/Packaging background.
Prior product management experience.
Prior P&L responsibility (profit & loss).

Participate in annual and ongoing sales forecasting process
Meet quarterly and annual revenue and gross margin goals
Meet market share goals
Manage demo inventory in line with net working capital goals
Meet warranty expense goals
Semi-annually, next 12-month advertising plan
Semi-annually, next 12-month trade show plan
Semi-annually, next 12-month scientific publication plan
Maintain accurate data sheets for all active products
Maintain accurate price book pages and ordering instructions for all active products
Maintain accurate and commercially relevant .ppt presentations for all active products
Maintain relevant applications data for all active products
Maintain a relevant and accurate web site
Semi-annual market analysis
Market share, identify and explain trends
Overview of direct competition (other similar product offerings)
Overview of in-direct competition (eg other techniques)
SWOT analysis by product line and product
Analyze performance by sales territory. Identify underperforming territories and suggest corrective action and targets
Analyze performance by OEM. Identify underperforming OEMS and suggest corrective action and targets
Semi-annually, generate next 3-year product development roadmap in close collaboration with R&D
Semi-annually, overview of competition and trends (leads to updated development roadmap, product positioning)
Generate Flash updates as necessary (eg In case of competitive product introductions)
Track competitive patents on quarterly basis
Gather competitive information including spending time using competitor's products
Maintain 3-year product development roadmap
Generate Market Requirements Specifications
Participate/drive the PLC process
Attend all concept design review meetings
Monitor and/or participate hands-on in prototype testing
Select beta sites, set-up beta agreements, manage beta testing
New product introduction
Generate data sheets, price book pages including ordering instructions
Set prices and lead times
Generate demo site plan (eg at OEMs, key customers)
Generate applications plan
Generate .ppt including product overview, applications data, competitive comparison & positioning
Train sales force/distributors/OEMS
Manage beta unit disposal
Handle Specials requests
Provide customer demos in-house or at customer or OEM sites
Organize workshops, schools
Assign demo inventory as appropriate
