Job Details:
SUMMARY: The Product Manager will be responsible for being the product portfolio subject matter expert to include business unit processes & procedures, product quality, inventory management, product specification accuracy, packaging project & inventory management, and strategic category project management.
Responsibilities/Duties: Direct supervision of assistant product manager, provide leadership surrounding effective product management principles, business unit prioritization, cross-functional team engagement, complaint management/resolution, and short-term business objectives and volume plans for assigned categories reflecting overall corporate goals. Monitor performance measurements to ensure volume and profit are tracking against goals. Recommends and implements corrective actions. Develop and seamlessly execute business plans to deliver against category financial and share objectives. Engage in Customer meetings. Lead development of new product introductions, development of packaging graphics for new/existing products and communication to Sales. Develop strong understanding and technical competencies of Tyson systems and processes as well as Customer packaging development systems. Engage and lead cross-functional teams for assigned projects. Work hand-in-hand with the sales lead to understand and integrate Customer strategies in business plans. Management of at least one direct report.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree required OR equivalent experience gained through years of service ; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in the protein industry/consumer packaged goods product management.
Proven track record in managing and meeting volume and profit targets.
Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
