We are looking for an IT Manager to join our Digital Commerce IT team to lead our Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) product teams globally. This leader will own the strategy for the eCommerce platforms, business case development, management of the demand pipeline, leading the Business Analyst team, delivering on our commitments, co-organizing and facilitating world-wide governance sessions, and managing communications for the overall platform. This individual will drive increased growth and usage of the digital platform across the globe while ensuring that we deliver on our five Digital Commerce strategies (Channel Optimization, New Business Models, Expand Reach, Increased Sales Orchestration, and Personalization Analytics) while enabling our three strategic imperatives: Drive Efficiency, Enable Growth, and Improve Customer Experience.


• Set the strategy and roadmap for Digital Commerce in strong partnership with the Business Units and Geographies; quantifying and measuring business value delivered and ROI

• Partner with Regional IT and Development Team to deliver projects leveraging the Medtronic Connect technical architecture

• Develop and deliver a business migration plan to port existing B2C eshops and B2B webshops to the global standard over time

• Improve and execute against the Operating Model for Global/Regional IT

• Accountable for developing supportable, testable, and measurable requirements

• Responsible for financial management including team member billability, business chargebacks, vendor partner budgeting, etc.

• Lead and manage the team of Business Analysts (BAs): Product Owners, Application Owners, and Project BAs

• Accountable for estimating new demand, enhancing and leveraging the estimating models, and keeping the Program/Team roadmap up to date

• Accountable for developing proposals for customers in the demand pipeline in order to better align on scope, budget, and timeline

• Co-organize and facilitate global governance sessions that ensure the regional IT teams are developing code and sharing reusable components efficiently

• Organize and facilitate ongoing stakeholder meetings

• Manage communications for the Digital Commerce team, ensuring that all stakeholders and future stake holders are kept up to date with key plans, approach, and status.

• Develop and refine communication practices between and among the teams developing on this platform to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

• Align communicate with senior management and executives on core communications of the team

• Responsible for creating and maintaining Business Capability Roadmaps

• Partner with the Delivery Manager and Support/Operations Manager to ensure that we work as one team

• Establish relationships across businesses and with top management, both IT and business, to ensure strategic and tactical plans are in place, appropriate and executable.

• Monitor and control project financial metrics and make adjustments where necessary to meet scope, schedule and budget expectations.

• Partners with Portfolio Manager to ensure Project Managers working within the Digital Commerce space are successful delivering business value and are aligned/supporting the Digital Commerce operating model.

• Seeks out opportunities for continuous project process improvements and implements changes with the team

• Responsible for facilitating estimates for new demand, enhancing and leveraging the estimating models, and keeping the Program/Team roadmap up to date

• Responsible for developing proposals for customers in the demand pipeline in order to better align on scope, budget, and timeline

• Drive improvements to the wiki, internal team sharepoint, and other key sites to ensure our documentation is kept up to date

• Develop and refine communication practices between and among the teams developing on this platform to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

- Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Experience working with and leading Technical team members

• Experience in Software Development Lifecycle and Agile project management methodology

• 5 years of relevant experience in job offered or a similar role in leadership and technology

• Experience with organizing and communicating with global teams

• Proven communication skills

• Previous working experiences within Life Sciences environment

• Demonstrated experience in executive-level communications and messaging


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Working in a high pace environment and with aggressive project schedules

• Ability to develop effective relationships with business users, technical staff and executive management

• Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational activities

• Fast learner with the ability to quickly master new applications and develop domain knowledge

• Strong client facing and presentation skills

• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-energy and fast-paced environment

• Passion to contribute to high-quality services and solutions

• Team player comfortable to work in an international and culturally diverse team

• Willing and able to travel on occasion (5-10%)

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with ambiguity

• Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude and perform as a team player.
