We are applying the same entrepreneurial and innovative approach that delivered the shopping experience, new technologies, products (like our Amazon Echo, Kindle e-readers, and tablets), and enterprise services (like Amazon Web Services). With our drive to reinvent on behalf of business customers, we are focused on building Amazon Business into the largest and most innovative Business-to-Business (B2B) marketplace in the world. B2B represents an incredible opportunity to address the needs of a large market segment and is an area of investment for Amazon. We are focused on building selection, pricing and solutions to enable B2B customers to discover, research, and buy products and services. We are building a marketplace that serves the needs of both suppliers and buying customers. As a result, our customers include individual professionals, small businesses to large institutions (and everything in between) from every industry vertical and the suppliers that serve them. A core way we differentiate and earn trust is to have the selection, pricing and business centric suppliers needed to meet the needs of business customers. We are looking for a leader that is a very strong product thinker renowned for his or her customer centric product vision. He or she will have led product management, engineering, and product development teams to build elegant, simple yet robust selection and pricing solutions for business customers. Amazon\u2019s vision is to offer the earth\u2019s largest Product Selection and Lowest prices for our business customers. To deliver on this vision we have aggressively grown the selection within Amazon and also through Sellers in North America. We recognize that we can gain even more leverage to grow business selection through innovative technology and programmatic levers. Amazon Business needs a senior leader to own one vision that is channel agnostic (Retail, Marketplace, etc.) for Selection and Supplier Experience. The leader will need to guide a team in \u201cdoubling down\u201d on this critical areas as well as to identify new and innovative initiatives that drive these areas. In addition, this leader will need to develop and implement the next generation business pricing model for Amazon Business that will be loved by customers and embraced by all types of Suppliers (Vendors, Sellers, etc). One example is developing a strategy around Volume Aware Pricing where AB is enabling purchasing in volume over time in an open and transparent way.
Basic QualificationsIt is expected that the successful candidate in this position will achieve all of the below in the first 12-18 months in the role: · Define the next 12-24 month Seller and Vendor selection and pricing plans and strategy. · Drive the full definition of and delivery against the new capabilities specified in the plan.· Rigorously monitor and test business customer reaction and behavior and drive rapid iteration and product improvements across partner teams.· Develop and build an organizational structure that aligns the talent to the strategic objectives for the group. This leader will be responsible for continuing to build an extremely high caliber team. · Develop and execute plans for global expansion.· Integrate with Category leaders and our seller facing teams to fully integrate our strategic plans to ensure business selection is a priority
Preferred QualificationsResponsibilities:This leader will be a big thinker who is perpetually focused on the strategy for the coming years and be planning and developing for scale and international expansion. He or she will be passionate about usability and have a track record of simplifying processes to ensure selection is available for business customers. A strong candidate will also possess a technical background that enables him/her to interact easily with software and web developers. The right person will have extensive program/product management experience. This leader will be known for his/her ability to communicate vision and drive execution and work seamlessly with both technical teams and business teams. He or she will have a strong reputation for attracting and developing the best talent. This leader will have the intellectual capacity to look at a wide array of options and identify what truly matters. He or she will be someone who stays connected to the details of his or her business. Finally, this leader will be known for maintaining composure and steady vision in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
