is seeking an Associate Product Manager

to join our Subscriptions Technology team within the Digital & Technology organization. This role will work within the product model, collaborating with product teams and key stakeholders to develop a plan and business objectives for their product team(s) within the Subscriptions capabilities that include: TV and music streaming, internet security and productivity subscriptions, protection products and other subscription types. The Associate Product Manager will focus on Partner Management.

The Associate Product Manager requires fundamental product management experience to effectively manage products and backlog of average size and complexity. The Associate Product Manager will contribute to team success through analysis, documentation, and backlog management. The Associate Product Manager will work with cross-functional team members and partners for delivery, maintaining a focus on customer needs, while delivering against prioritized outcomes and advancing the product vision. They are responsible for sprint/backlog management and must understand and utilize key customer and business metrics to inform their priorities. This role works with Engineering teams, User Experience teams and applicable stakeholders.

The Associate Product Manager will effectively craft clear product outcomes and vision for products of small to medium size and complexity with limited supervision, clearly demonstrating understanding of the product goals and organizational needs. The Associate Product Manager will expand and grow skills in connecting Best Buy’s broader strategic vision to their own product and the product vision. The Associate Product Manager will utilize feedback loops with their users (customers/employees) and contribute to supporting discovery practices to effectively inform priorities and advancement of the product vision. The Product Manager will innovate with purpose; demonstrating the test/learn/iterate mindset. They will promote progress over perfection; accept failure but not repeat mistakes.

This role is the expert for their product and is able to break down a high-level function, component, concept or epic into smaller, detailed stories that can be clearly understood by others, including engineers, developers, and testers to that the product changes needed meet user acceptance and contribute to the overall outcomes. It is critical that the Associate Product Manager keeps the customer and employee at the forefront of solution creation. The Associate Product Manager must learn empathy and demonstrate how it contributes to building employee and customer trust.

Minimum Requirements:

1.5 years' experience of product, project, systems business analysis or other relevant experience in a software delivery role

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to articulate clear and concise specifications for new products and new features with a strong affinity towards the developer community. Understands at a high level the landscape of tools and technologies that developers use to bring products to market.

Ability to prioritize new feature launches based on competitive analysis, industry trends, emerging technologies, and company vision. Proven ability to work under rapid development cycles with large teams to achieve a common goal.

Experience with varied production methodologies such as Agile development, Waterfall and/or Lean Development. Progressive experience leading larger and more complex areas; with larger budgets.

Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to articulate a strategy at every level of the organization. Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams.

Ability to influence cross-functional team(s) without formal authority.

Understanding and working knowledge of Retail strategies and complexities.

Experience with financial concepts and financial/budget management.

Ability to understand basic and complex architectural diagrams and data flows. Important to have or be able to develop an understanding of the technology stack and most importantly having the ability to understand the level of effort involved to assist with making important decisions for their product team(s).

Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
