Product manager jobs are probably the toughest jobs in the market today. If you want to be a product manager there are lots of things that your employers need to hear. PM’s must be up to date in keeping up with the technological advancements and being flexible and versatile as well.

Product manager jobs usually require a bachelor’s degree but most companies prefer those that have a degree in business administration. However, those with other educational background are usually also welcome to apply. Being a product manager requires special training. In manufacturing companies, technical and IT companies anyone with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher is acceptable. Other acceptable courses include communications, economics, business law, advertising, and marketing research. A project manager should be IT oriented.

If you consider filling a product manager position, you should have ample experience for you to be considered. You can start working as an entry level worker, a marketing researcher, sales and purchasing agent and you can work your way to the top. While many companies hire employees within the company, some companies choose to find someone to fill the position elsewhere so you have to lookout for jobs openings. Many internet employment agencies or job sites have thousands of product manager jobs you can choose from. You can also check out newspapers ads, bulletin boards or simply ask friends and family for possible openings or a training program from a company seeking a product manager.

Product manager jobs are very lucrative jobs that are often in demand. They are sometimes promoted to the top positions of companies if they are successful. More and more products emerge in the market today, thus more product manager jobs are in demand for many years to come.

Product managers can work full time for about 40 hours a week, plus more if something comes up. A product manager’s job is a very demanding one. He spends most of his time working with the staff, travels to meet with clients and so on. A product manager can earn as much as $100,000 dollars annually including other benefits and incentives.
